The School for Music Vocations is based out of Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA, and is one of the only specialized, 2 year, vocational music programs in the US. Started in 1991 by esteemed vocal jazz educator Phil Mattson, it continues to thrive today under the direction of SMV graduate and Grammy nominated arranger, Dr Jeremy Fox. Aside from being a unique resource for emerging students during the school year, it is also a resource for students and educators during the summer. WMU/NYV Camp Website

Western Michigan University/New York Voices Summer Vocal Jazz Camp was created with the jazz vocalist in mind. The individual members of NYV share their vast experience as educators, performers, producers, arrangers and songwriters with YOU in this exciting six-day musical immersion. In addition to NYV, the camp faculty includes many of their long time friends and colleagues from the leading learning institutions of music. WMU professor and Camp Director Greg Jasperse takes over the baton after many years cultivating this creative playground with NYV and continues his role in the extended special faculty. This camp is open to both educators, students and music lovers who want to expand their knowledge and grow their creative garden.
